day 299_may 10, 2009

Muttertag in Riehen.  Today we visited Foundation Beyeler, not far from Basel.  The red porphyry clad building and it’s floating glass roof sits in an amazing English landscape garden.  A linear site, the museum covers about one third at the northern portion and the Berower Villa is at the opposite end.  It was such a nice day.  There were many people enjoying the scenery and an equal amount inside with the art.  We spent the end of our visit at the Villa where we had a nice post museum meal in the restaurant.  A fleeting thunderclap and rainfall moved us inside, but it was still a pleasant experience nonetheless.
