The images below are of Mercado Ferreira Borges market hall building, built in 1885.  It is a beautifully elegant steel and glass structure.  Predominately it served as the fruit market for about forty years.  After a long stretch of vacancy and dilapidation it was cleverly revitalized as an entertainment venue .  Built into the two large and tall bays are ‘black boxes.’  One houses the performance hall and the other retail on the ground level and a lounge/restaurant upstairs with lots of daylight streaming in from the glass roof. A great place to visit even if the venue is between acts. day 971_11.03.03_1
